“The cycling story, that changed my life’s theory” – Nikhil on his journey from Kota to Kheerganga.

“My willpower did to me, what sunrise does to the day………………”,  these are the words of headstrong ‘Nikhil Jadon’, who fought depression and found tranquility in the arms of nature.

His metamorphosis from Radio jockey to a cyclist is quite august. He cycled a handsome distance of 1300 km from Kota to Kheerganga with 20 kgs on his shoulders. A devotee of Lord Shiv wants to inspire people, with his superpower, that is “Willpower”

He recently spoke to us about his choices in life, his inspirations, and more in a candid chat. Excerpts:

ON HIS WORK…..

As with most workaholics, I was neglecting a few niggling health issues, which got worse over time and I had to pay attention to them.
Being an RJ, my job did not include much physical work, but after this empowering journey, I want to reach out and show people the benefits of cycling and staying fit.
ON HIS INSPIRATION…….

“Inspiration can come in any form. While listening to one of Mr Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat”, in which he suggested people to save fuel one day in a week, so that will be four days every month. And this saved fuel can be a great gift to the next generation. It got my mind working, I decided to walk, in this direction, and this is how all of it commenced.
ON HIS LIFE……
I was depressed for months and was surrounded by negative energies. Even walking out of my the room was a horror story for me.
I was jam-packed with energies, which were dispersed up there, in the mountains…..
This journey changed my way of looking at life.
I have started sensing an inevitable love for my life.
ON HIS JOURNEY…..

“Riding makes you smarter, burns mega calories, and builds a stronger heart and enviable quads but above all, it satisfies your soul…..”, I started my journey from  Kota, with a bunch of friends.
Due to fatigue, my friends gave up midwaywhich disheartened me. Even my body gave up countless times, but my will power and passion towards my goal, kept me going. The support and well wishes of my parents gave me colossal amount of strength. I knew the path is going to be draining and I have to put in even more strength, in the coming days. So, I made up my mind to stand up after every fall.
The positivity that people on the way shared with me,is unforgettable.
ON THE GOLDEN MOMENTS…..
Indian Cyclist

“I parked my cycle, to gaze a bit, with muscles engulfed in fatigue,
That gaze brought me to life, those mountains made my heart thrive”
I have been at Kheerganga before, on my bike. But going all the way up on my cycle was a whole new level of experience, I could actually feel cosmic energies flowing in the atmosphere………Being so close to nature was very pleasant.
It was both thunderous and calm.
DURING THE ARDUOUS TIMES………..

During the day, the temperature used to twin my anxiety, both scorching high, neither of them willing to tranquilize. My breath often surrendered to the never-ending roads, but my soul eager to reach the destination. At last, I reached Kheerganga and it poured the most comforting smile on me.

ON FUTURE PLANS…….

My next destination is Goa and I have been working really hard for the past months, to make my body and mind fit for this journey. And I want to motivate many hopeless souls and tell them, “Even a bright sunny day has to go through darkness each night”.

HIS WISE WORDS…..

“Keep your body fit and healthy, nothing is more important than that, and never look back on your failures and regret, as they are your biggest teacher. Every disappointment is a brand-new start to something wonderful. And most importantly, don’t lose faith in yourself”

On being asked about the fact, of being away from the town, he said
“Pedalling uphill made me realize what flyovers took away from the cities; Pedalling downhill was a bittersweet feeling of leaving the calmness behind”. True enough.

“HE LOST HOPE, HE STRUGGLED BUT HIS VISION DID NOT BLUR……
HIS ANXIETY TRIED TO MURDER HIS FERVOUR, BUT HE DID NOT DEMUR……..”
